Piroctone Olamine is an antiseptic that inhibits the growth of pathogenic bacteria and fungi without being harsh on the skin.

Fungi prefer humid and warm environments, which is why they tend to inhabit the skin between the toes. At the same time, this area is often avoided when applying foot creams, which allows the pathogens to thrive undisturbed. Such neglect can later turn into an infection that shows itself in three ways: interdigitally (between the toes), hyperkeratotically (excessive skin cell production and thickening of the skin) and as dyshidrosis (reduced sweat production). Moreover, a fungal infection weakens the skin and predisposes it to a secondary bacterial infection with a chronic character.
